About Us
Woodlawn Baptist Church Child Development Center was established in 1999. It is our vision to share the love of Christ and make Him known in our community. We will strive to provide the highest quality childcare education where children are able to grow and learn with encouragement and guidance from our Christian staff. We desire to come alongside the parents in helping each child develop strong foundational skills needed to succeed in life.
Our program ranges from children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. We use Bible stories and seasonal activities and materials. This provides the spiritual foundation and basis for our weekly plans. The teachers also integrate activities that promote physical, intellectual and social-emotional stimulation. The weekly lesson plans emphasize experiences and relationships that build concepts, individual competence, and positive self-esteem. Weekly lesson plans and the daily schedule are posted in each classroom for your information.
Mission Statement
Our mission is that each individual child will grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically, through the love of Jesus to develop a sense of independence and will be given opportunities to develop self-reliance and problem-solving skills.
Program Goals

To lay the foundation for Christ-centered living for all children & families.

For the presence of Jesus to be seen in our words, actions, and deeds.

To maintain a “5” star rating at all times.

For staff to provide developmentally appropriate activities to aid in children’s growth.

For staff to continue their education through workshops, training sessions, or furthering college education.
6.
To offer the opportunity to develop positive relationships with adults and with other children.
7.
For children to have the opportunity to create, explore the environment, learn problem solving skills, and personal interaction through first-hand experience.
Chapel
Our older children attend a Chapel program, weekly, which is led by a member of the Pastoral senior staff in the Worship Center. They are always happy to go to “big church” where they learn about Jesus through scripture, stories and singing.
Stretch and Grow
Three and Four year old classes have the opportunity to engage their muscles and brains in fun and energizing movements. They learn about food groups and how food fuels their bodies. Through storytelling, poems and music, children learn that moving is fun and exciting. These classes are offered twice a month during the school year.
Hour of Operation
Woodlawn Baptist Church Child Development Center operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM until 5:30 PM.

Inclement Weather, Closings and Delays
In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified via the Remind app. Please contact the Director if you have any questions regarding this app. Decisions and information on closing/delays will be available as soon as possible, based on the decision of the Newton-Conover City school system. If there is no announcement made via our Remind app, we will operate on a normal schedule.
